Recorded at Condorcet Studios, France and Marquee Studios, England. A-side remixed at Power Station Studio. B-Side remixed at Ferber Studios, France, and Marquee Studios, England. A1: Paul Simon, BMI A2: Edward B. Marks Music Corp. On paper, this Back in Time release sounds like a mound of gooey cheese. Disco versions of El Condor Pasa and Sound of Silence? When the vocals drop out on El Condor Pasa and the track goes strictly instrumental, there is something special in play.

It was re-released by Sanctuary/Columbia Records in the United States in 1998. It was the band's first album to feature guitar synthesisers. Since its release, it has been certified platinum by the RIAA, having sold over one million copies in the US. Somewhere on Tour was the release's supporting tour.

Television's first album, Marquee Moon, was received positively by music critics and audiences and entered the Billboard 200 albums chart – it also sold well in Europe and reached the Top 30 in many countries there. Television reformed in 1992, released a self-titled third album and have performed live sporadically thereafter. Since being wooed back on stage together for the 2001 All Tomorrow's Parties festival at Camber Sands, England, they've played a number of dates around the world and continue to perform on an irregular basis. In 2007, Richard Lloyd announced he would be amicably leaving the band after a midsummer show in New York City's Central Park. Due to an extended hospital stay recovering from pneumonia, he was unable to make the Central Park concert.

Their first album explored obsessions like robotics, Ronald McDonald and cannibalistic apes, making devolution feel like the future. You can hear echoes of the Descendents and Misfits, among other punk staples, within the polished tunes on their breakthrough album. The anti-sexist Penis Envy features radical rants to back up the politics.

Somewhere In Time: Iron Maiden's most intricate album cover explained in detail. NWOBHM legends Iron Maiden released their album Somewhere In Time on this day in 1986. It’s one of their most intricately detailed album covers and layered with many in-jokes and nods to their past. Artist Derek Riggs spent weeks on the 32-inch by 15-inch painting. It wore me out quite severely, Riggs revealed in Martin Popoff’s book Run For Cover: The Art Of Derek Riggs  . 4) Next to that is a sign for the Marquee Club, which looks bigger than the original venue in London. 5) There’s Doctor Who’s TARDIS. Bruce Dickinson is a fan.

On September 29th, 1986, Iron Maiden released their sixth album, Somewhere in Time. Like many of their covers, the artwork was created by Derek Riggs, who snuck dozens of references to the band’s previous work and their lives in his art. Here are 32 hidden references made on the front and back covers of the album, which is now 32 years old. FRONT COVER: 1. The street is named Acacia, much like the Number of the Beast track 22 Acacia Avenue. 2. The poster shows Eddie from the band’s debut album with graffiti that reads Eddie lives. 15. The marquee at the movie theater says Life After Death, the name of Maiden's 1985 live album. It also says Blade Runner, which inspired the cover art. 16. This sign, which reads "Ancient Mariner Seafood Restaurant," references the song "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" off Powerslave.
