Hal Michael Ketchum (born April 9, 1953) is an American country music artist. He has released 11 studio albums since 1986, including nine for the Curb and Asylum-Curb labels. Ketchum's 1991 album Past the Point of Rescue is his most commercially successful, having been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Between 1991 and 2006 Ketchum had 17 entries on the Hot Country Songs charts.
Hal Ketchum's The Hits collection covers the singer/songwriter's most commercially productive period on the country charts in the early '90s. These tunes didn't fit in with the new traditionalist revival of the period. At times, Ketchum's laid-back, soft rock material sounds as if it could have been recorded by James Taylor or Kenny Loggins. Among the ten hits are "Sure Love," "Hearts Are Gonna Roll," and his first number one hit, "Small Town Saturday Night.

Hal Ketchum, known for his '90s hits including "Past the Point of Rescue" and "Small Town Saturday Night, " has been revealed to be suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and can no longer go out on tour. Hal is otherwise healthy and happy, enjoying time with his family and friends. Ketchum, 66, released his debut album, Past the Point of Rescue, in 1991. In 1998 he was diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis, which left him without the use of the left side of his body. He eventually recovered enough to revive his musical career until 2008, when he decided to retire.
