Antenna is the third studio album and the first major label album by the American rock band Cave In. Released in 2003, it was Cave In's first and only album for RCA before they were dropped by the record label and re-signed with Hydra Head. Antenna marked a shift in Cave In's musical style which, while critically praised, was met with distaste from longtime fans. In the midst of such polarization, the band would later return to its previous style, resulting in Perfect Pitch Black in 2005.
Previously, on their godly Dillinger-esque calculus-core debut, Until Your Heart Stops, Cave In carried tormenting aggression and blended it with creative genius. Signs of avant-garde progression could be seen on tracks like "Juggernaut," but these ideas did not come to fruition until the Creative Eclipses EP. Drawing upon indie rock act Failure, the album shocked some, with its landslide progression toward a core sound. Off-kilter and half bloomed, they failed to reach full potential, until Jupiter, which should engulf the masses.

An album title can be a very powerful thing, giving the songs within it an aura and meaning, while also giving the listener a warning of what lies inside, and a central idea of what the artist is trying to express through the music. Unfortunately, this isn’t done all the time, but when done, and done right, it can be an incredible feat. Jupiter does this, and it does it exceptionally well. Jupiter is exactly what its massive title sounds like, foreign, distant, spacey and huge. A drum roll commences the opening song, which also happens to be the title track
The metronome was wrong again My heart has surely gone and skipped a beat And once the rhythm is all right I can understand your point of view. Jupiter this city is so bright The kind of light that spots your eyes with white Jupiter your beauty doesn't mind To be the center of my universe. Jupiter you're seemingly so right Jupiter you're seemingly so right Jupiter you're seemingly so right Jupiter you're seemingly so right for me. I finally understand your point of view To be the center of my universe
I highly recommend this album to fans of groovy rock music with only a pinch of experimental metal added into the mix. Just give this album a spin and I'm sure that you'll be hitting that repeat button for a weeks to come, I know that I certainly did! star songs: Jupiter (3:17) In The Stream Of Commerce (5:28) Innuendo And Out The Other (6:11). star songs: Big Riff (6:54) Brain Candle (3:28) Requiem (9:02) Decay Of The Delay (4:15) New Moon (5:42).
