Here's to my lady Here's a toast to my lady And all that my lady means to me Like a hearth in the winter A breeze in the summer A spring to remember is she No the years may grow colder As people grow older It's shoulder to shoulder we'll be But be it sunshine or shady Here's. my love to my lady And I pray, may she always love me Thought the years may grow colder As people grow older It's shoulder to shoulder we'll be But be it sunshine or shady Here's my love to my lady I pray, may she always love me. Here's to My Lady essentially replicates the winning formula of its predecessor, and why fix what isn't broken? Reuniting Monro with Feller, the album is as mature and comfortable as the cardigan sweater the crooner wears on its cover - Monro's vocals are smooth and rich like crushed velvet, tackling standards like "Laura," "When Sunny Gets Blue," and "When Joanna Loved Me" with a thoughtfulness that comes only with age and experience. This EMI Gold two-fer assembles a pair of excellent mid-’60s efforts by the underrated crooner Matt Monro. This Is the Life pairs Monro with arranger Sid Feller for a collection of standards and ballads that incorporates elements of contemporary pop and jazz but never does so at the expense of its sophistication or hard-fought maturity.

This Is the Life Lyrics. Matt Monro Lyrics provided by SongLyrics.

Matt Monro (born Terence Edward Parsons, 1 December 1930 – 7 February 1985) was an English crooner who became one of the most popular entertainers on the international music scene during the 1960s and 1970s. Known as The Man with the Golden Voice, he filled cabarets, nightclubs, music halls, and stadiums across the world in his 30-year career. Also, EMI re-released Matt Sings Monro, a 1995 duet album that combined his voice with the senior Monro's. Another posthumous Matt Monro duet, with Cliff Richard, appeared on Richard's duets CD, Two's Company, in 2007. Monro never recorded a "live" concert album, preferring the technical purity of the recording studio and wanting his public performances to retain an element of uniqueness. He loved Hong Kong and remembered his good days here and came to my show whenever he was in town. Tobler, John (1992).

Matt Monro (December 1, 1930 - February 7, 1985) was a ballad singer of the 1960s and one of great international postwar entertainers. View full artist profile. Play all. Shirley Bassey.
