Chicago Stmphony Orchestra conducted by Leopold Stokowski, recorded 1968. RCA Gold Seal 06 2, 1997, 73:10. I love the recorded sound and he performances, though the Khachaturian symphony is garbage. If you want this, look for the 14 CD box set going for 1/2 what this single item is going for as of late 2013. Same sound, just no booklet. The other 13 CDs are just as great.
The Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 54 by Dmitri Shostakovich was written in 1939, and first performed in Leningrad on 21 November 1939 by the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra under Yevgeny Mravinsky. Symphony No. 6 is in three movements and is approximately 30 minutes in length: Largo. The Sixth Symphony is unusual in structure, beginning with a long and introspective slow movement, followed by two short movements: a scherzo and a "full-blooded and debauched music-hall galop". 1 in F minor (Opus 10) by Dmitri Shostakovich was written in 1924–1925, and first performed in Leningrad by the Leningrad Philharmonic under Nikolai Malko on 12 May 1926. Shostakovich wrote the work as his graduation piece at the Petrograd Conservatory, completing it at the age of 19. The work has four movements (the last two being played without interruption) and is approximately half an hour in length. Allegretto - Allegro non troppo.

Dmitri Shostakovich Symphony No. 10 in E minor, Op. 93 The Golden Age, Suite from the Ballet, Op. 22a. Philharmonia Orchestra, Efrem Kurtz. Could you please re-post this recording of the Shostakovich 10th and any other recordings you have by him. Why there has been no CD collection of this marvelous conductor baffles me. LikeLike.
