Buzzcocks – The Way (Pledge Music) CD, DL Out Now 9/10. The punk Beatles produce their White Album. Firstly, why are a band of the standing of Buzzcocks having to crowd-fund a new album? Don’t get me wrong, the whole DIY ethic and audience inclusion definitely floats my boat but it seems criminal that this band, with a legacy such as theirs, don’t have the cash of a record company behind them

On 1 May 2014, Buzzcocks released the album The Way via PledgeMusic. On 13 September 2014 Buzzcocks played "a brief but triumphant set" at Riot Fest 2014 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. In October 2014 Buzzcocks toured the . for three weeks with The Dollyrots as main support. In 2016, the band embarked on their 40th-anniversary tour (dubbed "Buzzcocks 40"). Buzzcocks' name was combined with the title of the Sex Pistols album Never Mind the Bollocks to create the title of the long-running UK comedy TV panel game show Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

The Way' is only the band's sixth album in the last 20 years and it's a corker. Things kick off with 'Keep On Believing,' a rousing rocker in classic Buzzcocks style written by Shelley. Though his voice has aged a bit, it's still unmistakably him and the song has all the band's trademarks that will surely bring a smile to longtime fans and new converts alike. People Are Strange Machines' is up next with Diggle front and center. All five of the songs we wrote for the album are first rate: his vocals have gotten more commanding and his guitar is still lethal. On 'Virtually Real,' Shelley takes on the n cyber-world we inhabit.

Digital release out 10/6/14, CD/LP/CS out on 11/18/14. 1. Keep on Believing. 2. People Are Strange Machines. 3. The Way. 4. In the Back. 8. Chasing Rainbows Modern Times.

The album marks the debut of Chris Remmington on bass; drummer Danny Farrant has been with the Buzzcocks since 2006. Shelley’s Keep On Believing kicks off the album in strong form, a bracing slice of edge power pop that’s classic Buzzcocks. People Are Strange Machines is a wry look at relationships, which you might not immediately realize, as it’s set to a jaunty beat, laced throughout by a stinging guitar line.

Founded in Bolton, England, in 1976 by Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto, Buzzcocks have become known as one of Punk Rock history’s most adored acts. Through some break-ups and reunions the band has released nine full-length studio albums, beginning with 1978’s Another Music in a Different Kitchen. The band’s oldest and most recognizable songs include Orgasm Addict, I Don’t Mind, and Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone.

The Way (Buzzcocks album). Music journalist Colin Larkin said the album confirmed the Buzzcocks latter-day renaissance, a remastered version of All Set was released in the box set Classic Album Series in 2014. After their prolific career in the late 1970s, punk rock/pop punk band the Buzzocks reformed in 1989 for a tour of the United States, touring the world playing their durable old songs had put the group−especially Pete Shelley−in the same framework for new songs.
