My Funny Valentine: Miles Davis in Concert is a 1965 live album by Miles Davis. It was recorded at a concert at the Philharmonic Hall of Lincoln Center, New York City, NY, on February 12, 1964. Miles also recorded a studio version of the title song, muted, with piano trio backing in 1956.

Recorded live at the Philharmonic Hall at the Lincoln Center (New York City) on February 12th, 1964. The reissue was mixed and mastered using DSD technology and Sony Music Studios, New York City.

Miles Davis' concert of February 12, 1964, was divided into two LPs, with all of the ballads put on My Funny Valentine. These five lengthy tracks (specifically, "All of You," "Stella by Starlight," "All Blues," "I Thought About You," and the title cut) put the emphasis on the lyricism of Davis, along with some strong statements from tenor saxophonist George Coleman and freer moments from the young rhythm section of pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Tony Williams.

Recorded on February 12, 1964 and released in 1965, My Funny Valentine was just one of those blessed nights when the great jazz trumpeter’s quintet performed with such incandestant beauty that’s rare for such an ensemble-both small or large, to whom he is joined by session saxophonist George Coleman (before he was replaced by Wayne Shorter) who had played with.

My copy of the album has some interesting reflections from the players, particularly Ron Carter, the bass player, who almost didn't perform due to issues regarding pay. For those who cannot get enough of Kind of Blue and albums similar to it, this is a must have.
