Jala Jala y Boogaloo is an album released by the salsa music duet Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz. Released in 1967, the album is influenced not only by Latin rhythms such as the Puerto Rican Jala Jala, but also by beat music. Backed by the lead single "Richie's Jala Jala", the album was an international success, being popular in the United States, Colombia, Puerto Rico and other countries. The album's success led to the release of the follow-up Jala Jala Boogaloo Volume II with a similar cover and sound.

Jala Jala y Boogaloo, Ricardo Ray's second album for Alegre, was one of the best of his career, beginning with a splendid opener, "Richie's Jala Jala," with over five minutes of room for solos by dual trumpeters: Venezuela's Pedro Rafael Chaparoo and Doc Cheatham. While the first side concentrates on solid boogaloo and soul crossovers, Ray and Bobby Cruz set the template for salsa on the second with a pair of intense, freewheeling jams: "Lo Atara la Arache" and "Cabo . Just as dozens of Latin groups were jumping aboard the boogaloo bandwagon, Ray.
