Viagra Boys create post-punk songs in the ilk of The Men or Parquet Courts, but blues is also a distinctive vein running throughout new album Street Worms. This is infused through their ace-in-the-hole saxophone use and also Seb’s tales of woeful characters in each song– although these are not just down-on-their-luck losers, but mentally unwell societal outcasts. I'm sorry but Viagra Boys is too good of a name to even ignore! This album did not disappoint! The lyrics are insightful yet hilarious and the amount of charm here is admirable! Wiener Dogs are fucking everywhere (in both ways!) and greasy tennis balls will smack you in the face, followed by you quoting with pride on your face, "Basketball"! Viagra Boys are a Swedish post-punk band from Stockholm. The band formed in 2015, with several members coming from the bands Les Big Byrd, Pig Eyes and Nitad. In 2018, they released their debut album Street Worms. Nils Hansson, a journalist at the newspaper Dagens Nyheter described the band favorably, praising their musical style, as well as their use of black humor and satire, and rated the album a five out of five.
