Dalhous will release their first album under the name in April. Though An Ambassador For Laing is only the second release by the Edinburgh-based pairing of Marc Dall and Alex Ander as Dalhous (after an EP last year), they've actually been working together since at least 2010. The duo formerly went by the name Young Hunting, whose 2011 EP on Blackest Ever Black-the same label which will release the debut Dalhous LP-was described by RA's Jordan Rothlein as "immersed in the same shroud of darkness as Demdike Stare, Andy Stott circa 2011 and their peers on Blackest Ever Black. Blackest Ever Black will release An Ambassador For Laing in April 2013. Label: Blackest Ever Black.

Dalhous' debut, AN AMBASSADOR FOR LAING, starts with the gurgling mystery of "He Was Human And Belonged With Humans" as it clatters into something akin to free jazz held in place by the hissing percussion. A moodiness hangs over the tracks, like the delicate melancholy of "The Physical Body," although "Bolder And Lighter Than The Beat From A Wing" adds a lightness.
An Ambassador For Laing sees the Edinburgh-based duo of Marc Dall and Alex Ander further explore their new sound as Dalhous, having previously surfaced with film score influenced gothic pop under the Young Hunting moniker.
