It was released by Jive in July 1987 and charted in the United Kingdom at number twenty-two, United States at fifty-one (gold), Canada at forty (platinum), Australia at eighty-six and Germany at sixteen. Samantha Fox is the second full-length album from British model-turned-singer Samantha Fox. She enlisted help from producers and music group Full Force, who were helping Lisa Lisa at that time, to produce some of the songs on the album.

Samantha Fox – I did a Pop album 2 years ago, but unfortunately before that, my partner was suffering with cancer for 2 years and died. The album was near half done during that time, but it was very difficult for me to write or record at that time, so there’s been a big delay on that album. There are 2 more tracks to finish, I would say it has an ’80s influence, but there are also some live musicians, so it’s pretty powerful. It has the hooks that the ’80s had.

Samantha Fox told BBC's Breakfast that she has been working with a lot of 80's artists for her new album. Samantha Fox was one of the most photographed British women of the 1980's. She gave up modelling to concentrate on her music career. She has sold 30 million records worldwide. Fox told BBC's Breakfast that she has been working 80's artists for her new album, and the sound is "80's style with a modern twist".

Samantha Fox is the eldest daughter of actress Carole Ann Wilken and John Patrick Fox. She has a younger sister, Vanessa, and two half-siblings from her father's second marriage, Frederica and Frankie. Fox comes from a family of market traders. Greatest Hits is a 2009 compilation album by British singer Samantha Fox. It was conceived and developed by British music producer, Carl M Cox, who approached Sony Music with the idea of releasing a definitive hits collection, having discovered a number of unreleased recordings at Pete Waterman's PWL studios to include with material from Fox's first four albums with Jive Records as well as her more recent recordings from the 1990s and.
