It didn't get much media coverage and it didn't achieve blockbuster sales like Band Aid or USA for Africa, but Hear 'n Aid did generate a respectable amount of revenue. This dramatic epic features plenty of vocal gymnastics and guitar shredding.

Hear 'n Aid was a charity music project that was founded in 1985 largely on the initiative of the American heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio. The original idea is, however, attributed his bandmates Jimmy Bain and Vinnie Appice. The aim was modeled after the band-aid project to Bob Geldof (1984 ) to establish a comparable music project in the Heavy Metal scene, whose profits should be donated to the hunger and development aid.
