The financial return from the releases was sufficient to encourage Bill Sheppard to establish another label. This was Bunky Records, and the first release was by The Esquires, now bolstered by the inclusion of Mill Edwards in their line-up
The R & B band The Esquires was founded in 1957 in Milwaukee by Gilbert, Alvis and Betty Moorer, as the three siblings still attended school. They appeared first on in local shows. In the course of the existence of other members joined the band, so Harvey Scales ( not participated in the recordings) and 1961 Sam Pace. First, they were given the opportunity to participate as a background singer for recordings of Lonnie Walker. Betty Moorer then took a few singles under his own name; she left on the tape to try a career as a soloist. It was replaced by Shawn Taylor.
Canzetta Maria "Candi" Staton (/ˈsteɪtən/) (born March 13, 1940) is an American singer–songwriter, best known in the United States for her 1970 remake of Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man" and her 1976 disco chart-topper "Young Hearts Run Free". In Europe, Staton biggest selling record is the anthemic "You Got the Love" from 1986, released in collaboration with the Source. Staton was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame. Staton is a four-time Grammy Award nominee.
