Faraquet /ˈfærəkɛt/ is an influential post-hardcore band from Washington . sometimes placed in the math rock genre. The trio formed in 1997 and disbanded in 2001 after releasing its debut full-length on Dischord Records. Faraquet were influenced by . based peers like Fugazi, Jawbox, and Nation of Ulysses as well as progressive rock bands like King Crimson.

Contrary to popular numbering for vinyl, tracks are listed on the back of the sleeve sequentially with no reference to sides A or B. Tracks 1 to 5 are on side A, while tracks 6 to 10 are on side B.

Tracks 1, 2, and 9 were recorded in 1997 at a loft in NYC. Tracks 3 to 8 and 10 were recorded between October and December 1998 at the Pirate House in Washington DC. Mastered at Silver Sonya.
