High Anxiety is the seventh full-length album by the band Therapy?, and was the first to be released on Spitfire Records. It was released on 5 May 2003. The album was recorded from December 2002 to January 2003 at Parkgate Studios in Hastings. High Anxiety" was the first album to feature drummer Neil Cooper, and the last recorded with guitarist/cellist Martin McCarrick, who departed in 2004. The album has a similar production value to Troublegum, and is a return to that albums’ sense of melodic punk.

High Anxiety is Therapy?'s first set of new material since 2001's Shameless, the band's first for Spitfire, and the debut of ex-Beyond basher Neil Cooper behind the drum kit. It might be the best example yet of Therapy?'s sound, which can only be described as literate metal. Cooper, guitarist/cellist Martin McCarrick, bassist Michael McKeegan, and Andy Cairns have always been courageous enough to sludge through the swamps of Black Sabbath and Motörhead while holding melody and intellect high overhead

With High Anxiety, Therapy? still prove that they are a force to be reckoned with. Unlike previous albums as Shameless and Suicide Pact You First, High Anxiety reminds me of their best album to date Troublegum. It is not a simple copy, because there are also influences from other albums they have released. High Anxiety is just an electrifying album with heavy guitars, noise attacks (no so many as on other albums) and excellent vocals. Vocalist Andy Cairs delivers his best vocal efforts so far. A negative observation is that the album, when comparing it to their entire back catalogue, does not.

High Anxiety was the bands seventh full-length album and their most important release to date. The Irish Therapy? is the prime example of a band that lost the way perfectly after the breakthrough. This is what far to imagine that the band after Troublegum (1994) no good plate brought out more but surely is that that level was reached only sporadically. With the passage of years, Therapy? increasingly, however, start worrying or the music commercially interesting enough. That this slowly but surely in a return to the coarser metal sound of Troublegum and the plates before that resulted, need no surprise. High Anxiety is therefore fully embarked on the new Therapy?-rate of ' harder and faster '. But fortunately, singer/guitarist Andy Cairs also blessed with an excellent sense of melody and he writes very beautiful pop songs. High Anxiety is from beginning to end without prejudice to catchy and powerful. It doesnt even think of Therapy? ' s best work. The new Troublegum so? That quite yet but with High Anxiety comes Therapy? be awfully close.
