They were the band concept of innovative drummer Bill Curtis that wished to merge the "fatback" jazz beat of New Orleans into a funk band. They had seminal hits like "(Do The) Spanish Hustle", "I Like Girls", "Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money)", and "Backstrokin'". Their 1979 single "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is sometimes considered the first hip hop single.

Predominantly an R&B-based funk outfit, many claim their "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" was the first rap record.

I Found Lovin’ Lyrics. I played around with love before I was silly and you know that I played the fool But then you came into my life and you changed it Cause I know what I want and where it's at Yeah. I found lovin' Since I found you I'm in love with you I found lovin' Since I found you I'm in love with you I found lovin'. My sun rises on your face When I see that certain glow But.

Collection of The Fatback Band. A seminal funk ensemble, the Fatback Band made many great singles through the '70s and early '80s, ranging from humorous novelty tunes to energetic dance vehicles and even occasional political/message tracks. The original lineup featured drummer Bill Curtis, trumpeter George Williams, guitarist Johnny King, bassist Johnny Flippin, saxophonist Earl Shelton, and flutist George Adam.

King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is a 1979 song by the Fatback Band from the disco album XII. Released on March 25, 1979, a few months before "Rapper's Delight" (which is widely regarded as the first commercially released hip hop song), this song is often cited as the beginning of recorded hip hop. The title refers to vocalist Tim Washington. The song was originally the B-Side of the 7-inch single, with the A-Side "You're My Candy Sweet" a mid-tempo disco song
