Versatile actor/comedian Jack Benny had a long career (1911-1974) and was truly a star of stage, screen and radio. Although Jack Benny began in vaudeville and graduated to movies and television, it was on radio that Benny had his greatest success. Heard on NBC and CBS for decades, his sponsors included Jell-O, Grape Nuts Flakes, Canada Dry and Lucky Strike. Say what you liked best and least. Describe the author's style.

Jack Benny (born Benjamin Kubelsky February 14, 1894 - December 26, 1974) was an American comedian, vaudevillian, and actor for radio, television, and film. Widely recognized as one of the leading American entertainers of the 20th Century, Benny was known for his comic timing and his ability to get laughs with either a pregnant pause or a single expression, such as his signature exasperated "Well!" His radio and television programs, tremendously popular in the 1940s and '50s, were a foundational influence on the situation comedy.

Benny was remarkable in many ways, but in none more than this: he built a character of every sour ingredient in life, but somehow his real personality trickled through and made it wonderful. Would a real miser act that way before 30 million people each week? The Benny of the air was a fraud, a myth, a creation. It should have surprised no one to learn - after years of toupee jokes that played so well into the vanity theme - that Benny never wore one. He overtipped in restaurants, gave away his time in countless benefit performances, and was lavish in his praise of almost everyone else

Benny: Oh mister, Nelson: Yeeessss!? Benny: Are you the floor walker? Nelson: Now what do you think I am with this carnation? A float in the Rose Bowl Parade? Benny: I always run into this guy, HOW DO YOU KEEP A JOB!!?. Nelson: My fathers the president of the company. Benny: Working your way up are you? Nelson: Nooo down. JACK: My right name is Benny Kubelsky.
