Song Of The Wind (LP, Album, RE, Gat).
Joe Farrell, known in the '60s as a solid hard bop tenor saxophonist, branched out in the '70s. On this near-classic album, Farrell switches between tenor, soprano, flute, and even oboe while being joined by a rather notable backup crew: keyboardist Chick Corea, guitarist John McLaughlin, bassist Dave Holland, and drummer Jack DeJohnette. In addition to a famous version of McLaughlin's "Follow Your Heart," the material includes originals by Farrell and Corea, and the leader makes a strong impression on each of his horns. Joe Farrell, Joe Farrell Quartet.
His avant-garde playing can be heard on his solo works of the period, his solos in live recordings under the leadership of Miles Davis, his recordings with Circle, and his playing on Joe Farrell's Song of the Wind album on CTI Records. In September 1968 Corea replaced Herbie Hancock in Davis's band and appeared on Filles de Kilimanjaro, In a Silent Way, and Bitches Brew. I came into contact with L. Ron Hubbard's material in 1968 with Dianetics and it kind of opened my mind up and it got me into seeing that my potential for communication was a lot greater than I thought it wa. .The two exchanged letters until Hubbard's death in 1986, and Corea had three guest appearances on Hubbard's 1982 album Space Jazz: The Soundtrack of the Book Battlefield Earth, noting that Hubbard "was a great composer and keyboard player as well. He did many, many things.

This album is wonderful. It feels like your flying, on some songs, like the first song, which is one of my favs! The music is beautiful, and it's just like it in the original movie! I recommend this album. oh god, finally i found this awesome album. Great job joe hisaishi and miyazaki. As far as the movie goes, the story comes from Miyazaki's Nausicaa manga. i fell in love with this as a child when my dad bought me warriors of the wind on vhs and i have always loved the music i bought the album when it was released but when i moved last year i lost it. I am very grateful to have the tracks again thank you.
Baez included that song on her 1964 album 5, and the extent to which her voice has changed over the last half-century only underscores the extent to which the times have not. Her voice now sounds graver, more deeply grooved by age, with a slight tremble as she recounts the violence in Charleston and its aftermath. Having lived through decades of protest-song history, Baez knows how to gauge the state of the world and how to pitch her music to reflect it. She chooses songs that convey a sense of ambivalence about our country’s fate, as though she must now work to muster something resembling hope. That struggle is what makes this album so compelling and ultimately so rewarding.
