Weezer (commonly known as the Blue Album) is the debut studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on May 10, 1994 by DGC Records. It was produced by Cars frontman Ric Ocasek and recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City from August to September 1993. Founding guitarist Jason Cropper left during the recording, replaced by Brian Bell. The album reached number sixteen on the US Billboard 200, and was certified triple platinum.

About Weezer (The Blue Album). Weezer, known better to fans as The Blue Album, is Weezer’s first and most successful studio album. It was released on May 10, 1994. Three strong singles ( Undone – The Sweater Song, Say It Ain’t So, and Buddy Holly ) pushed both the album and the band to the front of the post-Kurt Cobain alternative scene, and then even further into mainstream success. The album was produced by The Cars lead singer Ric Ocasek, after Weezer was pressured by Geffen Records to avoid a self-produced album

Weezer (often referred to as The Blue Album and commonly abbreviated as TBA) is the debut album by Weezer. It was released on May 10, 1994 by Geffen Records. The album was produced by former Cars frontman Ric Ocasek and recorded in Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Weezer spawned the popular singles "Undone - The Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly", both of which were responsible for launching Weezer into mainstream success with the aid of music videos directed by Spike Jonze.

Weezer is the eponymous debut studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on May 10, 1994 by DGC Records. It was produced by The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek and recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City from August to September 1993. The album reached number sixteen on the US Billboard 200, going on to achieve RIAA triple platinum status. It was supported by the singles "Undone – The Sweater Song", "Buddy Holly", and "Say It Ain't So", which brought Weezer mainstream success, helped by music videos directed by Spike Jonze

So, this time we have Weezer. Not even much time has passed since the time of their previous compilation of covers in the Teal album, as the guys finally produced the long-awaited real album with the original tracks. I absolutely do not have the slightest understanding of what the fans expected from the album, because there wouldn’t be much to expect from mainstream music, but the current Black album pleasantly entertained me and left a pleasant aftertaste, which is already quite good for me personally.

Nerd-rockers Weezer, originally made up of Rivers Cuomo, Matt Sharp and Patrick Wilson, added Brian Bell before signing to Geffen Records and releasing their debut album 'Blue Album' in 1994. Featuring UK and US hit singles 'Undone - The Sweater Song' and 'Buddy Holly', it set the band off in the right direction bringing their uniquely American geek rock to an ever-growing fan base.

Weezer anthems were destined to be different. Pinkerton, Weezer’s sophomore album, is often described as the tortured confessional to end all tortured confessionals, essentially a diary of Cuomo’s notorious Asian fetish. But Say It Ain’t So is just as raw, and arguably has more that its listeners can use, throwing its arms wide open to anyone who’s known the trauma of dad issues.

Weezer ‘Blue’ (1994). A superior debut offering by anyone’s standards. This one did wonders for all of us who were far too uncool to ever truly fit in with the metal kids, the punk kids, or the t-any-given-moment kids. It’s for these reasons and many more than space here will allow, Pinkerton is the best Weezer album. Posted on March 6th 2019, 2:00pm.
