José María Córdova Muñoz, also known as the "Hero of Ayacucho", was a General of the Colombian army during the Latin American War of independence from Spain. Córdova was born in Concepción, Antioquia on September 8, 1799. He died in Santuario, Antioquia, on October 17, 1829. In 1814 Córdova's military career started in the Engineer Corps during the independence of Antioquia as a Republic, State established by Francisco José de Caldas in Medellín

José María Sánchez-Verdú (born 1968 in Algeciras) is a Spanish composer. He graduated in Orchestra Conducting, Musicology and Composition at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música of Madrid and has a degree in Law (Universidad Complutense). He studied composition in 1992 under F. Donatoni in Siena.

José Tejada Soto, the son of Francisca de Soto y Sánchez, and grandson of Manuel Soto y Solares was born around 1890, and grew up in the shop at Cerrageria No 7. About 1911, the shop moved to the Calle Federico de Castro, No 59; and he worked there with his mother until he took over in 1917.
