High Land, Hard Rain was the 1983 debut album by the Scottish new wave or "jangle pop" band Aztec Camera. It features singles such as "Oblivious," "Walk Out To Winter" and "Pillar To Post. Aztec Camera's "High Land, Hard Rain" is one of many albums I own that took a LONG time to like. I bought it with the knowledge that it was a monumental and thus historically influential album in the 80's - it was very unique and well-produced at the time. The other interesting fact is that it was all done by a seventeen year-old! Every song here is good, but the problem with most of them is that Roddy Frame's voice isn't all that appealing - it has a boyish nature to it and it just isn't all that good (this is the reason I didn't like it at first).
